New Year's Resolution 2013

The past few years I really haven't made a new year's resolution. It's not that I think I am perfect, it's that I couldn't think of one that I think I could stick to. Most people usually forget about theirs within 2 months.

A few days ago, I decided on mine: to put my phone away when I am with my friends. If you go to a casual restaurant, look around. I bet at least 1 person at almost every table has their phone out. If they aren't on it, it's next to them. I have been on both ends of that situation and I realized it is kind of rude. You are putting the person you are spending time with below your phone, or the person you are texting.

Now granted, there are exceptions to everything such as family emergencies or expecting an important phone call, but how many times are we in that situation? This year I resolve to keep my phone in my purse/pocket when I spending time with my friends and family because they are important to me and I am spending time with them, not my phone.

I have 11 weeks of school left, which is really scary. In 5 months (or about 23 weeks), my friends and I will have graduated. Some will stay around the city, but others won't. I want to make the time I am spending with them count.
