Tonight I was doing my usual Thursday evening ritual: watching NBC's evening line up of Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, and 30 Rock. Tonight I was watching in my friend's room. In her room is a big black and white Beatles Poster. Glancing at the Fab 4 from time to time, I decided to listen to them when I got back to my room. So guess what I'm doing? Listening to the Beatles.

The Beatles is one group I kinda grew up with. They were played often on 103.3 KLOU in St. Louis. Yellow Submarine was one of the first CD's I bought with my own money. In third grade I got a blue CD player for Christmas so of course I needed some CDs to play! A few days after Christmas I bought 2 CD's at Borders: Backstreet Boys Millennium and Beatles Yellow Submarine. Very different, but I listened to those CD's a ton (mainly because they were my only 2 until I bought Britney Spears's Oops...I did it Again!). I was tired of listening to my parent's music and started listening to pop music. My friends began to influence my musical tastes more.

As the years have gone on I stopped listening to the Backstreet Boys, but I kept listening to the Beatles. Besides Yellow Submarine, I now own 1. If asked, I don't think I can pick a favorite Beatles song. It's like picking a favorite ice cream flavor (& I love ice cream, so for me that is a hard decision). It depends what kind of mood I'm in. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is up there along with "Help." I can't think of a song I don't like, now that I think about it. That's very rare with a band or artist. Sure, some songs are better than others, but there isn't a Beatles song I will skip when I'm listening to my iPod.

Have a great weekend everyone!
